Good attendance at school is essential to examination success. Research shows that pupils whose attendance is less than 90% on average achieve 1 GCSE grade lower than pupils with full attendance. Medical and dental appoinments should be made out of school hours or during school holidays. If your son/daughter is unable to attend school because of illnes please telephone the school office before 8.45 AM, where possible. Punctuality All pupils are expected to be on site by 8.40 AM and should be in form rooms by 8.45AM. Parents of pupils who arrive late to school after registers have closed will be telephoned. Poor punctuality is not acceptable in the workplace or in futher education. It is not acceptable at Woolston Community High School. Former pupils have been refused places in college or employment when the school has made reported pupils' poor punctuality in references.
